SEASONS

Birth of a son, to an elderly couple had begun
an uncertain responsibility to three-
dwelling in the cold winds of the North country!
Drifting to abandoned cabins, living off the barren land.
When a potbelly stove gave little to warm the hands.
Thin-boarded walls, and snow blew in, gave little shelter to lend
to a roving family, when a child depends-
his fate seems obscure for a little boy to endure,
The loneliness-
though staying at a convent, they thought it was best,
but emotionally he went into a lengthly rest, and escape from his bed,
by peering through the pane he'd seen,
trees leaves transform from luscious green.
Seasons are short, no visitors to recall,
and colors changing into fall,
until nothing's left on the branches at all!
Spring did arrive, then came summer,
as the little one cried for his mother!
In time he returned,
his body matured to a man,
nursing his fatally ill mother is all the disappointment he could stand-
He looks from his window,
and dreams pass with time,
as a learned man and survivor of the wild is true,
but incapable of intimate love, and withdrew, into the SEASONS.
